Journal of Oceanology and Limnology (JOL) Call for Papers on saline lakes research

The 15th International Conference on Salt Lake Research (ICSLR-15) will be held on November 4-8, 2024. The conference is organized by the International Society for Salt Lake Research (ISSLR) together with the Middle East Technical University (METU) in the scenic city of Antalya, Turkey.

It is pleased to announce that the Journal of Oceanology and Limnology (JOL) will publish a special issue on the ICSLR-15. We cordially invite you to submit papers to this special issue focusing on salt lake sciences.

Research papers, invited reviews, new techniques, new methods, and critical articles are solicited, including but not limited to the following topics on salt lake research:

(1) Geological history and paleoecology of saline lakes

(2) Physical-chemical processes and modeling of saline lakes

(3) Structure, functioning and dynamics of saline lake ecosystems

(4) Impact of desalination and freshwater salinization on ecosystem structure and functioning

(5) Impact of climate change and land use on the ecology of saline lake

(6) Biodiversity and conservation of saline lakes and adjacent habitats

(7) Economic and social values of saline lakes and impacts of resources (e.g. brine, Artemia, etc.) extraction

(8) Management and restoration of saline lakes and related watersheds

All papers will be initially screened by the editorial office and the issue editors and then sent out for peer-review in accordance with standard journal procedures. Authors interested in submitting their works for publication in this special issue should consult the website for more information.

Before you submit your manuscript to the website, please read all applicable documents listed in the Instructions & Forms at the upper-right corner of the submit website, and be familiar with all the requirements and policies specified by the journal. Please do not forget to select the “ISSLR-15” as the manuscript type during your submission to indicate that you are submitting to the “ISSLR-15” special issue.
